Nope. No excuses to commit crime in South Africa. The person will face criminal charges if caught regardless of the situation.

Reason :

There are many reasons for someone committed a crime, one of them is unequal access to basic services. Many people locked in poverty, most of them lack the power to claim their rights and fight for access to basic service. People with poor access to basic services are at greater risk of committing a crime. Some people commit crimes to meet their needs.  

  • Unequal access to education will create a low-income job, unemployment and many social problems.  
  • Health services. Not everyone has access to a good health care system.  
  • Housing. Small houses, crowded family and homelessness increase several people stay in the street as house no longer a comfortable place to live in.

It refers to the availability of resources and rights to few people rather than everyone. It is a system in which one person or group of individuals has greater authority or advantages than others. Such uneven access to resources might lead to a power imbalance between family members with and without citizenship.
