A path of song and mind would be considered an example of trompe l'oeil because its painted frame fools the eye.

Trompe l'oeil, (French: “deceive the eye”) in painting, the representation of an object with such verisimilitude as to deceive the viewer concerning the material reality of the object. This idea appealed to the ancient Greeks who were newly emancipated from the conventional stylizations of earlier art.

Implied light was used by Gijsbrechts use to create the trompe l'oeil effect in his painting Trompe l'oeil with Studio Wall and Vanitas Still-Life  .The Implied light serves as the the light source or light reflected within the composition of art. When using realistic compositions, if there is light, there is shadow, this help Gijsbrechts to create the trompe l'oeil effect in his painting Trompe.
