John is organizing a local event. He expects the approximate attendance for the event to be modeled by the function a(t) = -16t2

+ 48t + 64, where t is time in hours.
Assuming the event ends when there are no attendees, plot the domain to represent the duration of the event.

The duration of this event is 4 hours

This function is a quadratic one

let Δ be the discriminant :

a = -16

b = 48

c= 64

Δ = 48²-4*(-16)*64 = 6400

So there are two values that satisfy -16t²+48t+64 = 0  x and y

x= (-48+80)/-16*2 = -1

y= (-48-80)/-16*2= 4

x<0 so w won't take it since time is a positive value here

so t = y = 4h

What is a quadratic equation meaning?

  • Any equation containing one term in which the unknown is squared and no term in which it is raised to a higher power solve for x in the quadratic equation x^2+ 4x + 4 = 0.
  • A quadratic problem is a type of problem in mathematics that deals with a variable multiplied by itself — an operation known as squaring. The area of a square is defined as its side length multiplied by itself in this language. The term "quadratic" is derived from the Latin word quadratum, which means "square."

Using the net below, find the surface area
maw [93]

Answer:

Surface area = 90 cm²

Step-by-step explanation:

Given net of the rectangular prism shows the dimensions as,

Length = 5 cm

Width = 5 cm

Height = 2 cm

`Expression for the surface area of a rectangular prism = 2(lb + bh + hl)

Here, l = length

w = width

h = height

By substituting the values in the expression,

Surface area = 2(5×2 + 5×2 + 5×5)

                      = 2(10 + 10 + 25)

                      = 90 cm²

For which of the following correlations would the data points be clustered most closely around a straight line?
Flauer [41]

Answer:

The correct option is C) r=-0.80

Step-by-step explanation:

Consider the provided information.

Properties of r in a scatter plot:

The value of r is between -1 and +1.

If the value of r is positive then it associated with positive relationship if the value of r is negative it associated with negative value.

The greater value of r would be closely around a straight line(Regardless of sign).

Now consider the provided relation.

The use of regression line is to minimize the distance between projections and real values.

Correlation is inversely proportional to difference between predicted values and actual values.

So for good fit we just need to look for the highest  value of r regardless of the sign.

From the provided options the highest value of r=-0.80

Thus, the correct option is C) r=-0.80
