In September 1927, Philo T. Farnsworth invented the television. The first patents for all-electronic television broadcasting were actually granted to him. Not to David Sarnoff. Therefore, that statement is utterly FALSE.

Thanks to his wife Pem's diligent documentation efforts, Philo Farnsworth was successful in obtaining the first patent that demonstrated he created television before engineers at Radio Corporation of America.

Farnsworth didn't make a lot of profit from his royalties because:

- His sole patent rights were valid for only seven (7) years.

- World War II prevented the manufacture of television sets for five (5) of his seven "patent rights" years.

- Radio Corp. of America or RCA waited until his seven-year period was over so that the manufacturers could save from having to compensate Farnsworth a significant amount of money in licensing fees.
