Using proportions, the amounts are given as follows:

  • Small: 24 Twix, 8 Milky Ways, 19 Snickers.
  • Medium: 30 Twix, 10 Milky Ways, 25 Snickers.
  • Large: 42 Twix, 14 Milky Ways, 37 Snickers.

<h3>What is a proportion?</h3>

A proportion is a fraction of a total amount, and the measures are related using a rule of three. Due to this, relations between variables, either direct(when both increase or both decrease) or inverse proportional(when one increases and the other decreases, or vice versa), can be built to find the desired measures in the problem, or equations to find these measures.

We have that the amount of Twix is <u>triple the amount of Milky ways</u>, hence:

  • In the small bag, there are 8 x 3 = 24 Twix.
  • In the medium bag, there are 30/3 = 10 Milky Ways.

There are 5 fewer Snickers then Twix, hence:

  • In the small bag, there are 24 - 5 = 19 Snickers.
  • In the medium bag, there are 30 - 5 = 25 Snickers.
  • In the large bag, there are 37 + 5 = 42 Twix and 42/3 = 14 Milky Ways.

Hence the amounts are given as follows:

  • Small: 24 Twix, 8 Milky Ways, 19 Snickers.
  • Medium: 30 Twix, 10 Milky Ways, 25 Snickers.
  • Large: 42 Twix, 14 Milky Ways, 37 Snickers.

The length of a rectangle is 9 inches more than twice it’s width. If the perimeter of the rectangle is 48 inches find its length
morpeh [17]

Answer:

Length=19 inches\\\\Width=5 inches

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the width of the rectangle be 'w' inches

length of the rectangle= (2w+9) inches

Perimeter of the rectangle= 48 inches

Perimeter of a rectangle= 2(Length+Width)

                      48=2((2w+9)+w)\\\\48=2(2w+9+w)\\\\48=2(3w+9)\\\\48/2=3w+9\\\\24=3w+9\\\\3w=24-9\\\\3w=15\\\\w=15/3\\\\w=5 inches

                     Width= 5 inches

Length=(2w+9)=2(5)+9=19 inches

Length=19 inches\\\\Width=5 inches
