The teenagers giggled at the scene in front of them. Even though they were not giggling too loudly, the person in front of them

still turned around to glare at them. A little embarrassed, the teenagers quickly stopped giggling and checked to make sure that their phones were on silent. Then they resumed staring straight ahead. The lights started to dim, and the teenagers smiled in anticipation. Where were the teenagers?

What literary term is used when the author states "Ah, Loneliness"?
goldenfox [79]
The author uses the literary device personification in “Ah Loneliness”. Personification is giving a humanlike quality to something that is not human. In the poem the speaker talks to Loneliness as if it is a person that can talk back to him. He even capitalizes the L at the beginning of loneliness like you would the name of a person.
