Globalization The increasing scale of cross-cultural interaction is caused by the rapid movement of money, people, goods, images, and ideas within and across borders.

The process of globalization affects us all. Especially anthropologists who seek to understand the differences and similarities between human groups and cultures.

From the point of view of science and technology, or from the point of view of economic development, globalization may reflect a kind of convergence theory. In a deeper sense, however, globalization has strengthened cultural identities, and people are much more concerned about the uniqueness and idiosyncrasies of their own culture.

Discuss how it affects biocultural diversity.

In many cases, the quality of life for people living in developing countries is improving. In many developing countries, globalization has brought about improvements in living standards through improved roads and transport, improved health care, and improved education through the global expansion of business.

According to "The Experts: Does the Patent System Encourage Innovation?" what is a key problem with companies pursuing patents s
monitta

The key problems are the patent trolls.

The so called patent trolls buy or obtain patents cheaply from companies that are struggling and need any money they can get. Then the trolls use the patents as legal weapons to threaten legal action to those they argue infringe their patents. The trolls are not interesting in manufacturing a new product (from the patent they obtained) or coming up with new ideas how to use it. This way they are useless to invention and economy.

The alleged infringer has to pay a licensing fee which can be very high. Some of the patent infringement claims are baseless and may stifle the company's production thus hinder development of a new product.

Patent trolls buy a huge number of patents and then they misuse the patent system to shake down companies with their alleged claims. This way they limit and prevent competition as companies are afraid their new product has already been claimed by trolls.

"How much did you spend on food away from home last month" What is wrong with this question? It contains ambiguous words It is a
KonstantinChe [14]

Answer:

It is a "double barreled" question

Explanation:

The question shown above can be considered a double-barreled question. That's because, it doesn't specify what was spent on food outside the home last month. Was money spent? was gas used? was energy spent? we don't know, any of those things may have been spent.

A double-barreled question is the type of question that can address more than one subject, leaving the answer imprecise, because it may happen that the individual who received the question responds with something that is not exactly related to what the person who asked the question wants to know.

Svetradugi [14.3K]

Answer:

A) Bright lights will keep more students awake in class than dimmer lights.

Explanation:

Professor Boredom's hypothesis in this example is that bright lights will keep more students awake in class than dimmer lights. In this example, Professor Boredom is blaming sleepy students on lights. Lights are the independent variable that he can manipulate to find the number of sleepy students. The number of "sleepy students after the lecture" is according to Professor Boredom, the dependent variable that responds to the independent variable the "amount of light".
