A nation pursuing a policy of détente would most likely invade neighboring countries. Engage in discussions and negotiations. St
Gwar [14]

A nation pursuing a policy of détente would most likely ENGAGE IN DISCUSSIONS AND NEGOTIATIONS.

Détente means "loosening" or "relaxing."  Countries which have been strongly at odds with one another, with much tension between them, make an effort to relax that tension through negotiations.  That does not mean they stop spending on military programs, but they do try to pull back from the brink of possible war.

In history, the famous example of détente occurred between the USA and the USSR, beginning in the 1970s.  There was an effort to ease the heated tensions of the Cold War.  Rather than continuing the massive buildup of nuclear arsenals in an arms race, the United States and the Soviet Union began to talk to one another about the strategic reduction of armaments.  The nations' leaders, Leonid Brezhnev and Richard Nixon, met in Moscow in 1972 -- the first visit of a US president to Moscow.  They signed agreements stemming from these Strategic Arms Limitations Talks (SALT), which began a new direction in policy between the two superpowers.

Describe the nature of indeterminate sentencing and explain its positive aspects
N76 [4]
Indeterminate sentencing model is characterized primarily by vast judicial choice. It builds on the belief that convicted offenders are more likely to participate in their own rehabilitation if such participation will reduce the amount of time that they have to spend in prison. However, indeterminate sentencing may lead in inequity and sentences influenced by race, gender, or social class. It also may produce much shorter imprisonment than the sentence on its face would indicate.

Statements about the age of exploration
iVinArrow [24]
It was where the Europeans decided to look for new trade routes. The Europeans wanted to find another way to get to China/Asia. Christopher "discovered" America and there were also a lot of other explorers like Ferdinand Mallegan who kind of discovered a strait through the southern tip of South America. Many explorers also created instruments for sailing like a compas or a school for sailing which was created by Prince Henry thd Navigator. He was from Portugal. When Queen Elizabeth II came into throne there was a Spanish Armada.
