The number of miles in the taxi ride is 6.22 miles.

It is required to find the number of miles in the taxi ride.

What is arithmetic?

The branch of mathematics dealing with the properties and manipulation of numbers. a science that deals with the addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of numbers. Fractions, decimals, percentages, fractions, square root, exponents, and other arithmetic operations are used to achieve mathematical simplifications.

Given that:

The taxi company charged a pick-up fee of $1.60 for half distance.

The taxi company charged a pick-up fee of $1.75 for another half distance.

The total fare was $20.85.

Let x be the number of miles in the taxi ride.

So, the equation will be,

$1.60x+$1.75x= $20.85.

3.35x=20.85

x=20.85/3.35

x=6.22 miles.

Hence, the number of miles in the taxi ride is 6.22 miles.

Kay [80]

Answer:

(2, -39)

Step-by-step explanation:

f(x)=-3(x+2)^2+9

f(2)=-3(2+2)^2+9

f(2)=-3(4)^2+9

f(2)=-3(4)(4)+9

f(2)=-3(16)+9

f(2)=-48+9
