Advances in computerized systems, technological innovation, global competition and automation have changed the manufacturing environment drastically by decreasing direct labor costs and increasing overhead costs.

Advancement in technology has led to creation of some jobs that can now be performed more effectively and efficiently by machines because of their support automation. Systems like automated inspection, component choosing for assembly, and automatic assembly all help to lower labor costs in the manufacturing industry these days. Since machines and computer modules require constant repairs and up gradation, this has led to an increase in overhead costs for the companies.

For instance, in the United States in the 1980s, the widespread use of bar-code scanners and related point-of-sale systems decreased labor expenses per store by 4.5 percent and the price of the food that customers purchased by 1.4 percent.

What does the seal of the Massachusetts Bay colony tell us about English attitudes toward Native Americans?
Mashcka [7]

Massachusetts Bay colony was called the Royal Colony in 1629 and a modern state seal was approved by the Massachusetts legislature inn 1828. This evolution of the seal reveals how Massachusetts became to be the first state in the united states of america and why it intended to secede from the English Crown

Explanation:

Initially many Puritans from Great Britain settled in Massachusetts and they continued their traditional practices of worship where in the church and state were intertwined and depended on each other. Before the settlers arrived many Native american tribes Wampanoag, Pequot and Nipmuck lived in small bands and had no supreme chief. Different tribes spoke different languages and there were cultural misunderstandings that prevailed which the settlers viewed to be most inferior and decided to influence Christianity and  convert many of the native Americans. Some were annoyed at the English attitude of forceful conversion which asked to become aloof from their family and hence many native Americans refused to accept Christianity. This made the English king to incarcerate the native Americans who refused to embrace Christianity and many were forced to evacuate their own lands. Many native american tribes vanished due to  death and starvation.

Massachusetts legislature followed self rule and when the English King asked the Massachusetts Bay colony to follow the book of common prayer insisted by the English king, it refused ton accept the prayers and decided to secede from the English crown. Thus the Seal Of Massachusetts and attitude towards native Americans reveal that English Monarch was despotic and oppressed people by forcefully making the people accept his opinions and ideas.

Gender discrimination currently receives “intermediate” fourteenth amendment scrutiny. is this right? should gender receive “str
garik1379 [7]
This really depends on your beliefs in if gender discrimination is as big of a deal as racial discrimination. The 14th amendment is the Equal Protection Clause, it was mainly for the slaves that had been freed in the U.S after the civil war. It basically forbids the states to restrict basic rights of citizens without going through the process of law or being protected by the law. But has recently been used in cases to of gender discrimination.

I believe it is perfectly justified for the 14th amendment to be acted in cases of gender discrimination. The 14th amendment does not have to be dedicated completely to race, but can have multiple purposes and be dedicated to gender discrimination as well. Because the 14th amendment does not mention race in its context, but mentions that basic rights shall not be stripped from citizens.
