The short story "The Last Judgment" that is written by Karel Capek is about Ferdinand Kugler. After his death, he faces judgment to go either to hell or heaven based on his deeds in life and his deeds have not been very nice .

After realizing that God and humans have a different opinion and that God  believes Kugler is not a waste, he starts to understand that he is misjudged by the rest of the humans. The superior being considers him worthy of value and that he has done good things also and not only bad ones.
