The correct way to steam the asparagus was to peel and boil the asparagus.
What is steamer?
Steamer is a projection system created by Jared Cross, a high school physics teacher in Brooklyn, and two of his former students, Dash Davidson and Peter Rosenbloom. Fangraphs presently use it as their primary projection system for specific players.
Fill a steamer halfway with water and come to a boil. Peel the asparagus if they are too thick. Peel approximately 2 inches down from the stalk's tip. It is not required to peel thin asparagus. Cut the asparagus to fit into the steamer basket. Cover and steam until the asparagus is brilliant green and tender but still somewhat crisp, about 6 to 8 minutes for thick asparagus and 3 to 5 minutes for thin asparagus. Remove from the steamer and season with salt and pepper.
