Self-consciousness includes the emotions of empathy, jealousy, and embarrassment. Self -consciousness is the first feeling that we have when someone is pointing toward us and speaking about us. This involves understanding the inner self rather than the conditions and surroundings outside oneself.

Embarrassment is the first emotion that emerges when self-consciousness talks about 'me.'At this point, the child is able to realize that she is the center of attraction and that people are talking about her. So this starts the embarrassment for the child. The child also feels the emotions of empathy when the child places himself in the shoes of another and realizes what she does not possess.

Then at last the feeling of jealousy comes as the child is now able to realize that she wants something that the other possesses. These feelings are seen in the child between the age of 15 to 24 months. Self-consciousness is the direct consequence of the child's ability to consider themselves in comparison to others. It does not have anything to do with the surroundings or environment.

When planning a trip and deciding to drive your car or take the train, gasoline is a(n)_____
Mazyrski [523]

When planning a trip and deciding to drive your car or take the train, gasoline is a cost relevant.

What is Gasoline?

Gasoline is one of the most refined products that leave the refinery.

Automotive Gasoline is derived from relatively light fractions (C4-C12) by combining the products of various refinery activities, including isomerization, reforming, cracking, and alkylation reactions.

If Gasoline were solely the result of straight run fractional distillation, its composition would differ greatly and it would be an inadequate fuel for internal combustion engines.

Because lead-based chemicals can no longer be added to most Gasoline, the octane number is primarily improved by increasing the relative proportion of aromatic compounds and isoparaffins. .

Gasoline contains nearly all types of hydrocarbons in the C4 to C12 range, but is dominated by aromatic compounds, with alkylbenzenes being the most numerous and naphthalene- and indane-based compounds being less abundant.

A research team began a study of a cultured cell line. Their preliminary observations showed them that the cell line did not exh
Kruka [31]

Answer: The research team can conclude right away that the cell line is a "cancer cell or a cell that emanates from a tumor cell".

Explanation: 'Density-dependent inhibition is when cell growth has a reached a limited density which in turn will slow down the rate of cell growth because of lack of new 'anchorage' point (new cells to adhere and be in contact with).

'Anchorage Dependence' is the need for cells to be in contact (adherence) with another layer of cells. Cells require anchorage in order to survive.

The reason why the researchers will conclude right away that the cell line is a "cancer/tumour cell" is because normal cells display density dependence inhibition while cancer cells 'proliferate' (increase in number) regardless/independent of cell density.

Normal cells adhere to each other (need to be in contact with each other) and form orderly array of cells while cancer cells do not adhere to cells and can migrate over adjacent cells thereby growing in a disorderly manner.

According to this section of the textbook, which of the following factors have contributed to changes in the federal government’
Darina [25.2K]

As a country, it can be said that the United States are composed of two types of government in terms of their scope of influence: state and federal governments. State-level governance manages the citizens who are living in that state, especially in terms of the applicable laws, while federal-level governance manages citizens country-wide. Historically, federal governments have more influence than state governments.

The answer to the question is that these factors have influenced the federal government’s influence over time: (1) changes in how the U.S. Supreme Court and others have interpreted the U.S. Constitution, (2) changes in the power of the purse, (3) changes in what the people (i.e., citizens, interest groups, and political parties) want the federal government to do, (4) changes in the number, size, and resources of federal bureaucratic agencies, and (5) amendments to the U.S. Constitution.
