Timbuktu is a place that is seen in West African nation of Mali and the essay on it is given below.

What city is Timbuktu?

On the southernmost edge of the Sahara, Timbuktu is located in the Mali region of West Africa. 12 miles (20 kilometers) north of the Niger River is where the city is located. Its population was around 54,000 in 2009.

Timbuktu may have even earlier origins, since historical records imply that the city was constructed at least as early as A.D. 1100 with archaeological work completed before extremists took control.

According to Douglas Park, an archaeologist of Yale University who worked in Timbuktu in 2008, "Evidence from the excavations suggest that permanent large-scale urban communities at Timbuktu may have evolved as early as A.D. 200, with initial occupation reaching back to the Late Stone Age." The city is now viewed in the West as a symbol of enigmatic seclusion and the outside limits of travel.

However, this served as a significant commerce hub and a center for learning for many years. When the Songhay Empire ruled over the city in the 16th century, it was at its most prosperous. In their book "The Hidden Treasures," John Hunwick and Alida Jay Boye state that Timbuktu "may have had maybe as many as 25,000 students, corresponding to a fourth of the city's population."

Mike loves Q-Mart and shops there often. One day, another customer asked Mike if he knows where turkey basters are in the store.
BaLLatris [955]

Answer: Latent learning

Explanation:

Latent learning is the learning mechanism in which response is generated through subconscious retrieval of information. This learning takes place in lack of reinforcement. Therefore, the produced response is non-associative which is not linked with immediate expression.

According to the question, Mike is showing latent learning because Mike knows the site of turkey basters as he shops there a lot. Even though he hasn't looked turkey basters for himself but due to subconscious recalling of its spot , he directed the customer to that point.
