Explanation

We are told to find th correct optionthat satisfies the condition of a and b

Given that

a =5 and b =8

To go about this, we will simply substitute a = 5 and b=8 into each of the equation and cross-check the value with 104

Let us check for the first option

\begin{gathered} 8+a+8+b \\ 8+5+8+8=29 \\ since\text{ 29 is not equal to 104, then this is a wrong answer} \end{gathered}

Option B

\begin{gathered} 8+a+8b \\ 8+5+8(8)=8+5+64=77 \\ since\text{ 77 is not equal to 104, then this is wrong also} \end{gathered}

Option C

\begin{gathered} 8a+8+b=8(5)+8+8=40+16=56 \\ since\text{ 56 is not equal to 104, then this is also wrong} \end{gathered}

Option D

\begin{gathered} 8a+8b=8(5)+8(8)=40+64=104 \\  \\ 104\text{ is EQUAL to 104} \\ This\text{ is correct} \end{gathered}

Therefore, the anser is

Find 3 consecutive odd integers such that the sum of the smallest number and the middle number is 27 less than 3 times the large
Mandarinka [93]

Let consecutive odd numbers be

x , x+2 , x+4

Smallest number =x

Middle number =x+2

Largest number =x+4

According to condition (x) +(x+2) -27 = 3(x+4)

                                      x+x+2-27= 3(x+4)

                                      2x-25= 3x+12

Subtracting 2x and 12 both sides

                                   2x-25-2x-12=3x+12-2x-12

                                     -37= x   this is smallest odd number.

Other two odd numbers are (x+2)= (-37+2)=(-35)

                             &                (x+4)=(-37+4)=(-33)

so three consecutive odd numbers are -37 ,-35 , -33

6. Given the explicit formula, find the first three
stiv31 [10]

Step-by-step explanation:

Given the explicit formula : an = 3^{n-1}  find the first three terms

  • Term 1:

n = 1 => a(1) = 3^{1-1} = 3^{0} = 1

  • Term 2:

n = 2 => a(2) = 3^{2-1}=3^{1} =3

  • Term 3:

n= 3 => a(3)  = 3^{3-1}=3^{2} =9

  • the recursive formula:

\left \{ {{a(1)=1} \atop {a(n)=3^{n-1} }} \right.

Hope it will find you well.
