Columnar epithelial cells are cells that line the intestine and absorb digested food materials.

Columnar epithelial cells are column shaped. Some possess microvilli, some are ciliated, and some possess hair like structures for sensory reception. Ciliated columnar epithelial cells are found in the uterus, fallopian tube and the respiratory tract. Cells with hair like structures are found on the taste buds, in the nose and ears. Some columnar epithelial cells like the goblet cells secrete mucus.

Columnar epithelial cells with microvilli line the inner cavities of the small and large intestine for absorption of digested food materials. The microvilli increase the surface area for faster absorption.

Masteriza [31]

Answer:

Pharmacokinetics is currently defined as the study of the time course of drug absorption, distribution, metabo- lism, and excretion. Clinical pharmacokinetics is the application of pharmacokinetic principles to the safe and effective therapeutic management of drugs in an individual patient.

Pharmacokinetics is a science that studies how certain substances affect a living organism when administered. This particular science determines what happens to a drug from the time it is administered throughout its circulation within the body and to the moment when it is ultimately eliminated from the body.
