The roots of the human civilizations are mostly associated with the Asian continent because most of the early civilizations developed here, like the Sumerians, Persians, Phoenicians, Babylonians, Chinese, Hindus. Well, if you look at the ocean from a standing point of view, it's pretty flat and water is spread all around the surface. Because of this, most people would assume that ocean is just flat and smooth.
Thanks to the discovery of science, we're able to go down deep and learn that there is more to the ocean than we knew about. =)
