Considering a model of earth with no continents and with no rotation but heated like the real earth. The warm air around the equator and cold air at the poles. In such a model, the chances of possibility of survival are very low as this model doesn't support life on earth.

The rotation of the earth around its axis plays a significant role as its rotation is responsible for the occurrence of changing seasons and weather throughout the year around the globe.

Polar regions are colder than equatorial regions. If the earth stops rotating then the pattern of global winds would completely change.

The exchange of air in the atmosphere will be only in a back-and-forth motion.

Resultantly, the poles will be too cold to survive and the equator too hot to live in due to the hot and warm air around the equator. Unfortunately, this model doesn't support life on earth.

As the earth rotates, it moves warm air masses from the hot hemisphere to the cold hemisphere to maintain the temperature at a moderate level and vice versa. So, in order to maintain survival on earth, its rotation plays a crucial role.

10. What is partial melting compared to the complete melting of a rock? Why is it that rocks do not usually experience complete
Kamila [148]

Answer:

Partial melting occurs when only a portion of solid is melted. It is thus enriched in the chemical components of minerals with lower melting temperatures and the remaining unmelted portion of the rock is composed of minerals with highest melting temperatures. Partial melting preferentially enriches melts with incompatible elements.

Partially melted rock do not usually experience complete melting inside the Earth, due to their different chemical composition and their melting points.

It is thought that partial-melting processes play a major role in generating more-defined liquids from less-evolved ones, so that many basalts may be the result of partial melting in the upper mantle, and many granites may have derived partly or completely from the partial melting of continental crust (anatexis). With increasing temperature and pressure, the subducted oceanic crust (of basic composition) first undergoes metamorphism and then begins to melt or release watery fluids; this material rises into the overlying mantle, which may also begin to melt, giving rise to intermediate magma.

What does deposition have to do with deltas?
GrogVix [38]
Deposition has to do with deltas because when deposition such as water wind or ice moves the sediments and deposits them at the end of a river lake or ocean a delta is formed
