The rationalized expression in general term is given by: (-8 -4√2) / 3

What is rationalization?

  Rationalization is a mathematical operation that allows us to determine or eliminate a root of the denominator of a fraction, so that it can be expressed in linear form, either decimal or integer, by the product of a root.

  As defined above, we must perform a mathematical operation to eliminate the root of the denominator without altering the value.

(8√2 / 6-3√8 ) Multiply by  ( 6+3√8)/( 6+3√8)

(8√2 / 6-3√8 )( 6+3√8)/( 6+3√8)

8√2(6+3√8) / (6-3√8)² Expand the denominator using the FOIL method.

8√2(6+3√8) / (36 - 18√8 + 18√8 - 72)

8√2(6+3√8) / -36

48√2 + 24√2√8 / -36  ::::.   √8 = 2√2

48√2 + 96 / -36

-12(4√2 + 8) / 12x3

(-8 -4√2) / 3 is the result.

Debora [2.8K]

Answer: y= 3 times 2 to the power x. Second answer

Step-by-step explanation:

if you plug in 0 for x, y= 3x 1= 3

if you plug in 1 for x y= 3 x 2 = 6

Look at the x values and y values

(0,3) and (1, 6) on the graph. It matches answer number 2. Remember, 2 raised to the power 0 = 1 and 3 times 1 = 3. And 2 raised to the power 1 =2 and 3 times 2 = 6.

Help me solve for U please help
Maurinko [17]
U + 4/5 = 2 and 1/3

Subtract 4/5 from each side of the equation:

U = (2 and 1/3) - (4/5)

Now it's just problem in plain old adding and subtracting fractions,
just like the ones you've done many times before.

First let's change (2 and 1/3) to a fraction:    2 and 1/3  =  7/3

So you have to find the value of (7/3) - (4/5) .

In order to add or subtract fractions, they need to have a common denominator.
The least common multiple of 3 and 5 is 15, so that's a good choice.

7/3 = 35/15
4/5 = 12/15

Now the problem is:     (35/15) - (12/15).

That's 23/15 . . . . . the same thing as 1 and 8/15 .

That's the value of ' U '.  What an ugly number !

DanielleElmas [232]

Answer: $28.30✔️

Step-by-step explanation:

Let C = cost before tax

Cell phone costs = C + C·6% = $30

C(1 + 0.06) = $30

C = $30/1.06 = $28.30

Answer: $28.30✔️

Verify

Cell phone after tax = $28.30 + $28.30·6/100 = $28.30 + $1.70 = $30✔️
