Derrida holds, with Saussure, that language is a system of differences. this means that, a word gets its meaning by virtue of its differences from other words.

Derrida has called/named the language as arche-writing. As per which, a language is a type of writing that follows/consists of both speech and writing.

As Saussure described the term language as made up of a system of signs. And as per him there are only differences in language without a positive term.

It is so because Saussure use to look at structure as linear whereas, Derrida insists that all structures have some sort of center.

However, Derrida's concept was logocentrism. For which she said, the opposition/differences/argumentation between speech and writing is a manifestation of the logocentrism of Western culture.

In this excerpt from Lord Byron's "She Walks in Beauty," which phrases show that Byron's subject is rich in kindness and grace?
dem82 [27]

The correct phrases are:

And all that’s best of dark and bright Meet in her aspect and her eyes.

Where thoughts serenely sweet express, How pure, how dear their dwelling-place.

In opposition to the other phrases, these don´t refer to the subject´s beauty and its impact on others. They rather refer to the kindness and grace of the subject, depicting the way she behaves, her serenity and how dear she is to others.

(RL.1.2) PART A: Which theme is shared by both texts (source 1 and source 2)?
Pani-rosa [81]

Answer:

O a. One must take care to not offend the gods.

Explanation:

The texts to which the question refers are two different versions of Arachne's tale, in both texts Arachne's petulance and arrogance offends the goddess Athena, who brutally punishes her by turning her into a spider. The texts share the theme that care must be taken not to offend the gods as a metaphor that shows that human arrogance can lead to extremely negative and harmful results.

What profound conflict does the proctor note when he confronts hale with these words
Alexandra [31]

The conflict is the struggle of innocent people against accusers spurred by revenge, power or politics and juvenile hysteria.

Explanation:

The Crucible is a 1953 play by American playwright Arthur Miller. It is a dramatized and partially fictionalized story of the Salem witch trials that took place in the Massachusetts Bay Colony during 1692–93.

One of the primary messages of "The Crucible" is that horde attitude in any circumstance, strict or political, prompts negligent (and along these lines exploitative and nonsensical) activities. Right now, activities lead to the oppression of guiltless individuals.
