The colonies suffered various abuses directed towards them with the purpose of setting a tyrannical government and Jefferson claimed that the colonies had silently suffered and it was time to expose it.

   Instead of establishing a representative government, King George III built a tyrannical government. The ability of the populace to enact laws for the common welfare is the cornerstone of representative government. By rejecting proposed laws from the colonies, King George interfered with the colonies civil rights and impartial judicial procedures, King George III expanded his dictatorial rule. King George III made judges reliant on him for employment and compensation and prohibited the creation of judicial authority in the colonies.

    King George III expanded his tyrannical government by keeping a significant military presence under his direct command.
