Plants in the rainforest contribute to precipitation through the process of transpiration. Transpiration occurs when plants release water in the process of photosynthesis.

When nitrogen and phosphorous from fertilizers run off into lakes and oceans, they can cause eutrophication, the excessive growth of algae. Phosphorus is a chemical element found on Earth in numerous compounds. Animals absorb phosphates by eating plants or animals that eat plants. phosphorus results in algae overproduction or algal blooms in affected aquatic ecosystems. These algae blooms are toxic to both the plants and animals that live in the ecosystem, as well as the terrestrial animals that consume the water.

How were the hawiian island formed
Scorpion4ik [409]
In areas where the plates come together, sometimes volcanoes will form. Volcanoes can also form in the middle of a plate, where magma rises upward until it erupts on the seafloor, at what is called a “hot spot.” The Hawaiian Islands were formed by such a hot spot occurring in the middle of the Pacific Plate.
