The Battle of Dettingen was fought in the year 1743 during the ongoing War of the Austrian Succession also called king George's II war and this war lasted between 1740-48.

In 1743, King George II took part in the battle of Dettingen and formulated a historical moment by becoming the 1st British monarch who led his army to the battle and fought along with his soldiers against French Army.

In this war, British forces made an alliance with Austria and Hanover to fight against French forces.
