Using transitive and intransitive verbs, the four sentences about someone I admire are:

  1. William is someone who <u>discusses </u>his challenges with me. - T
  2. He loves to <u>address </u>his challenges firmly. - T
  3. He loves to <u>laugh </u>at the actors during movie time. - I
  4. William was <u>voted </u>in as the new house rep. - I

<h3>What is a verb?</h3>

A verb is actually known as a an action word or a doing word. Verbs are known to show us the action being performed in a sentence.

Transitive verbs are verbs that work with an object for the object to receive an action. In other words, transitive verbs needs objects.

Examples of transitive verbs are: bring, borrow, raise, pay, write, etc.

Intransitive verbs are known to be verbs that do not need objects. We can see that they do not take objects. Examples are:  "vote, sit, laugh, originate, increase, etc.
