a lecture course has 900 students broken into sections of 30 students each. on the final the average of the whole class is 62 wi

th an sd of 20. however one section has an average of only 52. the ta for the section argues his section's low average is just due to chance variation. the null hypothesis is that this ta is no different than the average ta and that the difference between his section's average and the whole class's average is small and just due to chance. the alternative hypothesis is that section average is too low to simply be due to change variation. how many tickets are in the null box?

A the likelihood is small (0.31%), there is little chance that the alternative hypothesis is that section average is too low to simply be due to change variation.

Define the term null hypothesis?

 • The null hypothesis is a common statistical theory that contends that there is no statistical relationship or significance between any two sets of observed data with measured phenomena for any given single observed variable.

There are 900 students.

Number of student = 900

Average of class(μ) = 62

Student contained in section (n) = 30

Standard deviation = 20

Average for other section = 52

To determine the likelihood that the final average will be lower than 52.

Now,

P(x < 52)

P(x - μ/ (s/√n)) < 52 - 62 / 20/√30)

P(z < -2.73)

P = 0.00317 (from regular table)

P = 0.31%

Since the likelihood is remote, there is the alternative hypothesis is that section average is too low to simply be due to change variation.

Daniel is going to buy a pizza.
morpeh [17]

Answer:

9

Step-by-step explanation:

For each pizza variety, Daniel can choose 18 different toppings. Therefore, for 23 pizza varieties, Daniel can choose from 23 * 18 = 414 different combinations of varieties and toppings.

For each pizza size, Daniel can choose from 414 different combinations of varieties and toppings. Therefore, for n pizza sizes, Daniel can choose from n * 414 = 3726 combinations

414n = 3726

divide both sides by 414 to isolate the n

n = 9
