South Africa's economy is based on agriculture and mining. However, it has some limitations to integrate into the world economy.

What is South Africa?

South Africa is a sovereign country located in southern Africa and whose form of government is the modified parliamentary republic. Its economy is the largest in the entire African continent.

How is the South African economy?

The economy of South Africa is based on two main activities which are agriculture and mining. Moreover, it has become a tourist destination that draws the attention of many tourists every year.

In terms of mining, South Africa is the second largest gold mining country in the world. Other minerals such as coal, platinum, copper, nickel, chrome, and salt are also exploited.

On the other hand, agriculture is an activity that takes place in about 80% of the country's territory. Its main export products are: cereals, avocado, tangerine, peach, apples, grapefruit, plums, among others.

However, South Africa has several economic problems that do not allow it to be a world economic power. In general, its location does not benefit it because it is in southern Africa, which makes it more expensive to transport its products to Europe and North America. On the other hand, unemployment is one of the most serious problems in this country.
