The observation that people prefer the first letter of their name to other letters in the alphabet provides support for a concept called implicit egotism.

Implicit egotism is the hypothesis that humans have an subconscious desire for things they associate with themselves. in their 2002 paper, researchers Pelham, Mirenberg, and Jones argue that people have a simple desire to feel good about themselves and behave consistently with that desire.

Implicit egotism refers to the concept that we certainly gravitate toward people, locations, and matters that resemble ourself. for example, we strongly select the letters in our name and the numbers in our birthdate.

Human beings gravitate closer to human beings, locations, and matters that resemble the self. We talk about this tendency as implicit egotism, and we suggest that it reflects an unconscious manner this is grounded in people's favorable self-associations.

Answer: random sampling

Explanation: Random sampling is a part of the sampling technique which each sample has an equal probability of being chosen. A situatuon whereby sample chosen randomly is supposed to be an unbiased representation of the total population. If at all, when sample does not represent the population, then the variation is called a sampling error.

Description: Random sampling is one of the easiest ways of collecting data from the total population. In random sampling, each member of the subset carries an equal opportunity of being part of the sampling process. For example, the total workforce in from is 500 and to conduct a survey, a sample group of 50 employees is selected to do the survey. In this scenario the population is the total number of employees in the firm and the sample group of 50 employees is the sample. Every member of the workforce has the same opportunity of being chosen because all the employees which were chosen to be part of the survey were selected randomly. But, when there is a possibility that the group or the sample does not represent the population as a whole, that means, any random variation is termed as a sampling error.

Another example of a simple random sample would be the names of 25 employees being chosen out of a group of company of 250 employees. In this case, the population is all 250 employees, and the sample is random because each employee has an equal chance of being chosen.

Random sampling is usually used in science to conduct randomized control tests or for blinded experiments.

Research examining the link between childhood abuse and antisocial personality disorder has found that :_______
emmasim [6.3K]

Research examining the link between childhood abuse and antisocial personality disorder has found that factors unrelated to child abuse might play a role in the appearance of antisocial personality disorder.

Antisocial personality disorder (ASPD) is a condition in which the attitudes, habits and behaviors of a person diverge significantly from and often clash with the norms of her society. Upto 4 percent of people in the United States are estimated to have ASPD.

People with ASPD tend to display a lack of empathy and disregard for others, even to the extent of harming them. They tend to violate societal norms and laws. A high percentage of incarcerated violent offenders happen to have ASPD.

While childhood abuse is considered to be a dominant cause of ASPD, research has pointed to other causes as well, including genetics, poverty, and conflicts in the family in which they grew up.

What model of family violence raises the costs of violent behavior through such means as arrest, imprisonment, or loss of status
solniwko [45]

Social control model of family violence raises the costs of violent behavior through such means as arrest, imprisonment, or loss of status.

Social control:-

 • Social control theory proposes that people's relationships, commitments, values, norms, and beliefs encourage them not to break the law. Thus, if moral codes are internalized and individuals are tied into and have a stake in their wider community, they will voluntarily limit their propensity to commit deviant acts.

What is an example of social control theory?

 • A good example of control theory would be that people go to work. Most people do not want to go to work, but they do, because they get paid, to obtain food, water, shelter, and clothing. Hirschi (1969) identifies four elements of social bonds: attachment, commitment, involvement, and belief.

Answer:

c. the expression of emotion reduces our level of physiological arousal.

Explanation:

Hello! The theory suggests that emotions occur as a result of physiological reactions to events. In addition, this emotional reaction is dependent on the way we interpret those physical reactions. This means that for example we do not cry because we are sad, we are sad because we cry.
