We can write a paragraph claiming that Montresor was successful in leading Fortunato because he knew Fortunato's weaknesses and Fortunato was intoxicated:

 • Montresor and Fortunato were friends, and Montresor seemed to know the other quite well. One of the reasons why he succeeded in leading Fortunato to the niche without suspicions is the fact that Montresor knows his weakness. As he reveals, "He had a weak point -- this Fortunato... He prided himself on his connoisseurship in wine. Therefore, it would be easy to persuade him to come if the excuse was to taste some good wine. Another reason why Montresor succeeded is the fact that Fortunato was already intoxicated that night. As Montresor says, "He accosted me with excessive warmth, for he had been drinking much." Therefore, it is quite easy for Montresor to deceive an intoxicated man who wants to drink even more.

Who are Montresor and Fortunato?

Montresor and Fortunato are characters in Edgar Allan Poe's "The Cask of Amontillado." Montresor is the narrator of the story. He claims to have been offended by his friend - although he does not explain what that offense was - and has now decided to kill him.

Montresor lures Fortunato into the catacombs of his house on a carnival night. Fortunato is already intoxicated and, upon hearing that his friend has got some Amontillado, he is excited about the prospect of tasting it. Therefore, it is quite easy for Montresor to take Fortunato with him.

The paragraph provided as an answer above effectively uses 7 sentences to explain why Montresor succeeded.

WILL GIVE BRAINLIEST.
vivado [14]

Answer:

E - It allows the author to identify the problems that existed in the previous research.

Explanation:

As the excerpt states in the beginning: " Our thinking, perception, and ability to understand language are processed in the outermost layer of the brain. This area is known as the cerebral cortex. Researchers are still working to understand how the cerebral cortex is organized. Scientists have used a variety of techniques to map the brain's organization over the past century. However, these measures don't always reveal the same boundaries and borders in the brain's landscape." This tells up that there were problems before hand. Which goes with B.
