Brown paid for the escapade with his life. In the more than 160 years since that raid, John Brown has been called a hero, a madman, a martyr, and a terrorist.

a martyr is a person who is killed because of their religious or other beliefs:

a madman is a man who is mentally ill.

i thing personally that he was mentally ill and was not normal
