English

The way interracial marriages are viewed by a culture is a function of whether or not such a culture is conservative or liberal.

How are interracial marriages viewed in conservative countries or cultures?

In very conservative cultures, interracial marriages are still a taboo and a source of real pain and dissention. Many interracial couples are excommunicated indirectly (or even completely in some cases) just for breaking tradition.

One of the reasons why such cultures remain conservative is due to lack of certain understanding and unwillingness to depart from age old norms.

How are interracial marriages viewed in conservative countries or cultures?

In liberals cultures, the subject is not even "a subject". Interracial marriages are welcome and tolerated very well.

Interracial marriages not represent assimilation and ethnic acceptance among people in the marriage, but they also produce interethnic commingling among family members, acquaintances, and larger social networks, resulting in further assimilation and acceptance.
