Which of the following molecules is not involved in the maintenance of the resting membrane potential?a. potassium cations

Chemistry

Calcium cations are molecules that do not play a role in preserving the resting membrane potential.

How much membrane potential is present at rest?

 • The inward rectifier potassium channel, also known as an anomalous rectifier potassium channel, is the specific class of potassium channel that controls the resting membrane potential. It is incredibly low when calcium is at rest. The resting membrane potential does not, therefore, include calcium.
 • Depending on their cell type, every cell in the body has a distinctive resting membrane potential. The three types of muscle cells—smooth, skeletal, and cardiac—and neurons, however, are of primary significance.
 • Calcium cations are molecules that do not play a role in preserving the resting membrane potential.

2. Explain Why would it be difficult to find the volume of a rock using
a ruler?
dedylja [7]

Answer:

Most of these rocks are not made up of common geometric shapes

Explanation:

Because most rocks are not made up of common geometric shapes, it would be difficult or impossible to find the volume of a rock using a ruler; there would be no easy way to measure the rock's volume using a ruler

Hope this helped!

Use the image above and describe the
Lina20 [59]

Answer:

If you see in the image above, there is an unbalance force applied while playing tug of war. Since it is 1 vs 2, there is a greater net force in the right side then the left side. If it was 2 vs 2 or 1 vs 1, then they are appling balance force. You can also see in the picture that the arrows are pointing outwards (--->) rather then inwards (<---) because you are pulling the rope not pushing the rope. If you add one person on the left side, then the newtons which is 20N will become to 35N and will be balanced, but since there in only 1 person, there is less force on the left side, the newtons gets subtracted having only 20N. Since you are pulling the rope, the friction is opposite (<---). Since you are pulling the rope, you are using Kinetic force and the rope stays in potential force since it stays constant.

Hope this helps, thank you :) and I am not sure about magnitude I think you can that since there is greater force on the right side, there is more magnitude there.

Which of the following does NOT involve a change of state? a. pouring water into a vacuum-insulated bottle b. sublimation of dry
Elena L [17]

The correct option is (a).

Explanation:

 • There is no change of state in pouring water into a vacuum insulated bottle as the vacuum created inside the bottle only reduces the time limit for the transfer of heat by conduction and convection.
 • It helps the content filled in the bottle to be hot and cool for a longer time.

Hence, option (a) is correct.

Rest of the options (b), (c), (d), (e) is not correct because of the following reasons:

 • In the sublimation of dry ice, the dry ice (solid-state) is changed to the vapour form.
 • In the freezing of water, the liquid state is changed to solid-state.
 • During the vaporization of alcohol, the liquid state is changed to the vapour form.
 • During the melting of ice, the solid-state is changed to the liquid state.
