The rectangle ABCD is dilated by a scale factor of 4/3 to produce rectangle A′B′C′D′.

What is the scale factor?

The scale factor states the scale or measurement by which a figure is bigger or smaller than the other figure. The size by which the figure would be reduced or enlarged is called its scale factor.

Suppose the initial measurement of a figure was x units. And let the figure is scaled and new measurement is of y units.

Then we have:

s \times x = y\\s = \dfrac{y}{x}

Thus, the scale factor is the ratio of the new measurement to the old measurement.

To find the scale factor used in the dilation, we have to divide the measurement after scaling by the same measurement before scaling.

From side B to C it is 40 units.

From side B' to C' it is 30 units.

     So, the scale factor = 40/30 = 4/3

Hence, The rectangle ABCD is dilated by a scale factor of 4/3 to produce rectangle A′B′C′D′.

What are the coordinates of the image (-3,-1) after a 90 counterclock wise e about the orgin and then translation 4 units up
katovenus [111]

1. The counterclockwise rotation by 90° about the origin has rule:

(x,y)→(-y,x).

Then

(-3,-1)→(1,-3).

2. Translation 4 units up has rule:

(x,y)→(x,y+4).

Then

(1,-3)→(1,1).

Answer: after composition of transformations the image point has coordinates (1,1).

creativ13 [48]
Answer:
9x²

Explanation:
The given expression is:
7x² + 2x²
Since both terms have x², we can take it as a common factor as follows:
x² (7+2)

Now, we will add the number within the brackets. Thsi will give us the final answer:
9x²

Hope this helps :)
