(a) The function "f" is increasing for the x-values of [(-∞) < x ≤ 0] and            [2 < x < ∞], while "f" is decreasing for the x-values of [0 < x ≤ 2].

(b) The function f(x) is greater than 0 at [(-1) < x < ∞], excluding the point  (x = 2)

(c) The function f(x) is less than 0 when [x < (-1)]
