The buildup of antigens and antibodies causes cells to clump together during a process known as agglutination.

When the correct antibody molecules combine soluble antigens to form immune complexes, they become visible when they are large enough to precipitate out of the solution.

The agglutination process is brought on by the interaction of the linked antigen molecules with the antibody molecules.

Contrarily, agglutination is the clumping of cells that happens when one antibody binds numerous antigens simultaneously.

When a target antigen, also known as isoagglutinin, interacts with a corresponding antibody in the presence of an electrolyte at the proper temperature and pH, a process known as agglutination occurs that results in the formation of visible clumps or aggregates.
