10x + 2y = -2
2y = -10x - 2
y = (-10/2)x - 2/2
y = -5x - 1...the slope here is -5...a parallel line will have the same slope.

y = mx + b
slope(m) = -5
(0,12)...x = 0 and y = 12
now we sub...we r looking for b, the y intercept
12 = -5(0) + b
12 = b

so ur parallel line is : y = -5x + 12

The circle below has a diameter of 12 centimeters. What is the approximate area of the shaded sector?
Hatshy [7]

Answer:

D 97 cm^2

Step-by-step explanation:

The area of the circle is

A = pi * r^2

We need to convert diameter to r

d =2r

d/2 =r

12/2=r

6 =6

The radius is 6

A= pi *6^2

A = 36 *(3.14)

A = 113.04 cm^2

Now the fraction of the circle that is shaded is 301degrees out of 360

(A circle is 360 degrees)

310/360 * area of a circle

310/360 * 113.04

97.34

Can you please graph the following function:y=3x-1
KiRa [710]

To graph a linear function you need to determine two points of said function, plot them in the coordinates system and link them by a line.

The most easy point to find is the y-intersect. This is the value of y when x=0

Replace it in the equation:

\begin{gathered} y=3x-1 \\ y=3\cdot0-1 \\ y=-1 \end{gathered}

The y-intersect is (0, -1)

To determine the second point you have to select any value of x of your choise and replace it in the formula to determine the y-coordinate.

For example: x=4

\begin{gathered} y=3x-1 \\ y=3\cdot4-1 \\ y=11 \end{gathered}

The coordinates for the second point are (4, 11)

Now plot both points in the coordinate system and the line.

Please could someone answer this question I would be appreciated
allochka39001 [22]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Area = pi r^2

r = 7 cm

pi = 3.14

Area = 3.14 * 7^2

Area = 3.14 * 7*7

Area = 153.86

Area = 153.9      rounded.

If you take a number, times by 8 then add 6. You get the same as if you took the number multiply it by 3 then subtract 7. What i
Gennadij [26K]

Answer:

x = -13/5

Step-by-step explanation:

let x be the number

8x + 6 = 3x - 7

move variables to left and numbers to right

8x - 3x = - 7 -6

5x = -13

x = -13/5

The point (-3, -5) is on the graph of a function. Which equation must be true regarding the function?
Alecsey [184]

Answer:

f(- 3) = - 5

Step-by-step explanation:

Given the point (- 3, - 5)

where x = - 3 is the input and y = - 5 is the output

The function can be represented by

y = f(x), that is

f(- 3) = - 5
