Answer: The expressions of the wife and the victim was that the victim’s face was gray and that he was holding his left shoulder he also smiled sheepishly at Gary.

Explanation: I know this because the text states that,” His face was gray and he was holding his left shoulder with his right hand. He looked at me and smiled sheepishly, as if to apologize for the inconvenience, and started to say something but then stopped and looked again at the floor in what soldiers call the thousand-yard stare.”

1984 essay, is the world getting closer to or father from "big brother" someone answer fast its due tonight and i havent read th
solong [7]

Answer:

It was a bright cold day in April, and the clocks were striking thirteen.

Winston Smith, his chin nuzzled into his breast in an effort to escape the

vile wind, slipped quickly through the glass doors of Victory Mansions,

though not quickly enough to prevent a swirl of gritty dust from entering

along with him.

The hallway smelt of boiled cabbage and old rag mats. At one end of it a

coloured poster, too large for indoor display, had been tacked to the wall.

It depicted simply an enormous face, more than a metre wide: the face of a

man of about forty-five, with a heavy black moustache and ruggedly handsome

features. Winston made for the stairs. It was no use trying the lift. Even

at the best of times it was seldom working, and at present the electric

current was cut off during daylight hours. It was part of the economy drive

in preparation for Hate Week. The flat was seven flights up, and Winston,

who was thirty-nine and had a varicose ulcer above his right ankle, went

slowly, resting several times on the way. On each landing, opposite the

lift-shaft, the poster with the enormous face gazed from the wall. It was

one of those pictures which are so contrived that the eyes follow you about

when you move. BIG BROTHER IS WATCHING YOU, the caption beneath it ran.

“A Raid on the Oyster Pirates” by Jack London describes the actions of several colorful characters. Neil Parrington takes leave
Lina20 [59]

This is an essay about the character, Charley Le Grant.

Charley Le Grant is an ambitious and cunning deputy, who one day, decides to earn a bit of extra money by performing a task that would as well satisfy his thirst for adventure. He discusses the idea of collecting and selling oysters on the narrator after taking a glance of a boat full of them running ashore. He later witnessed the discussion between a constable and a pirate crew, arguing over the possession of the oyster trove. Charley learns of the constable, Mr. Taft's plight and notifies the narrator, "I'm going to interview him about that reward".  He volunteers himself and his crew on the quest of retrieving the oysters from the pirates.

Having successfully made a deal, Charley and the narrator use their wits on a plan's design to execute their task. They hire a third member, Nicholas, who aids them in providing knowledge of the pirate island. Having designed the plan, Charley drops his two companions on the island, promising to return later to extract them along with the goods.

After a while, Charley returns to the island and picks up his companions along with a couple of sacks full of oysters. They rowed back home, nimbly dodging gunshots, but manage to fulfill their task triumphantly.
