We can assume that the amount of water on the earth will likely be the same in a billion years. Life on Earth depends on water.

Water connects the main components of the Earth's climate system, including air, clouds, the ocean, lakes, plants, snowfall, and glaciers, in its three states of solid, liquid, and gas.

The water cycle provides evidence of the ongoing movement of water on Earth and in the atmosphere.. It is a complex system with numerous interconnected processes.. Water vapor is created when liquid water vapor condenses into clouds after evaporating as a gas, bringing rain and snow back to earth.. The atmosphere is filled with water in a variety of stages. Water in liquid form travels through and into the earth on land.Ice and snow that is solid can rapidly turn gaseous .Plants absorb groundwater, which then evaporates and releases it into the atmosphere. When water vapor solidifies, the inverse can also occur.
