There are approximately 400 local courts in Georgia. Local courts have jurisdiction where?
bearhunter [10]

Under the 1983 Constitution of Georgia, the judicial power of the state is vested in seven levels or types of courts. The Georgia court arrangement has two appellate-level courts: the Supreme Court of Georgia and the Court of Appeals of Georgia. There are five types of trial-level courts: probate, the superior, state, juvenile,  and magistrate courts. In extension, nearly 400 municipal or special courts run at the local level.

The Court of Appeals is the court of the initial review for many civil and criminal concerns heard by the local courts. The purpose of such a review is to appropriate legal errors or errors of law delivered at the hearing level, not to modify jury decisions or the consequence of bench trials.

If required, a case may be interpreted by a higher number of magistrates of the Court of Appeals for decision.
