The first American poem, titled "Bacon's Epitaph, Made by His Man," pays tribute to Nathaniel Bacon, who led Bacon's Rebellion in 1675–1676.

What was Bacon's Rebellion?

Nathaniel Bacon led an armed uprising in Virginia in 1676 called "Bacon's Rebellion" against Governor William Berkeley.

Bacon's Rebellion was the greatest major challenge to regal authority prior to the American Revolution.

Historians typically connect this moment with the end of indentured servitude and the rise of slavery that followed in the British American colonies.

It turned out that indentured servants were both untrustworthy and disobedient. After that, they were swapped out for slaves.

While some historians believe Bacon's Rebellion was unwarranted and misguided, others believe his actions were honorable. Bacon's assault against the Native Americans was justifiable since the government was neglecting the citizens, teaching the Native Americans how to use weapons, and the Native Americans were robbing the citizens of significant harvests.

7. Do you believe that Canada should consult with First Nations groups about immigration policy? Why or why not?
GREYUIT [131]
Yes because
First Nations opinions on immigrants is different than the rest of society. Immigrants affect society and the economy in a positive way, by having education and skills from different countries and bringing it to Canada so we can have more workers for economic jobs, that help Canada's economy grow.
