U.S. antitrust laws: a. do not apply to companies based in other countries that are doing business in the United States. b. do n
Marysya12 [62]

Answer:

The correct answer is c.

Explanation:

Monopolies are considered negative in a free market economy because, through their economic dominance, they distort markets and stifle competition. In order to combat the rise of monopolies, the United States has a series of antitrust laws, which are meant to enhance competition and discourage and penalize monopolistic business practices.

The 1890 Sherman Act, the 1914 Clayton Act and the 1914 Federal Trade Commission Act represent the three main antitrust laws that regulate business practices for national and foreign enterprises that conduct trade in or with the United States. However, the 1982 Foreign Trade Antitrust Improvements Act regulates the international scope of these antitrust laws. Generally speaking, it states that they can't be enforced outside the US, unless the monopolistic practices affect exports from and imports into the US. According to this interpretation, foreign companies that do business in the US can be subject to antitrust laws if their business practices are considered monopolistic under them.

In a legal document called as an insurance contract, the agreement between an insurance provider and the insured is laid out. Every insurance transaction is centered around the insuring agreement, which specifies the risks covered, the policy's limits, and the length of the policy.

What type of contract is an insurance policy?

One party only makes an enforceable guarantee in a unilateral contract, which is referred to as such. When it comes to making a legally binding commitment to pay covered claims, the insurer alone establishes unilateral contracts that make up the majority of insurance policies.

What problems have rapid urbanization in Southeast Asia caused?
Mnenie [13.5K]

The rapid urbanization in Southeast Asia has caused many problems. As the urbanization was way to rapid, and it was not well planned, the urban areas look like everything but urban. The housing problem is huge, as there's not enough for the demand on place, so lot of people live in very small living areas. The basic needs for life, like clean water and electricity are not on good level, often lacking. The environment has been destroyed because of clearing up space, but also after the people have settled, as the garbage and sewage go directly into the closest water bodies. Fertile soil that could have been used for agriculture has been destroyed for building settlements. The badly planned urbanization also led to building on places that are not safe, like places where there are low ground waters and aquifers, places that are always under danger of floods, places that have soft sediments and sink.
