What is the percentage change in EPS when a normal economy slips into recession -15.0 percent

Under Normal Economic Conditions :

EPS = EBIT/shares outstanding = $216000/8600 = $25.11

Under Expansionary Times:

EPS = [EBIT x 1.60]/shares outstanding = $216,000(1.3)/8600

$280800/8600 = $32.65

Under a Recession:

EPS = [EBIT x (1-.12)]/shares outstanding =$216,000(.15)/8600

$324000/8600 = $37.67

% Δ EPS going from Normal  Expansion:

($32.65 - $37.67)/$37.67 = .15 or 15%

% Δ EPS going from Normal  Recession:

($32.65 - $37.67)/$37.67 = -.15 or -15%

About EBIT :

Earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) is an indicator of a company's profitability. EBIT can be calculated as revenue minus expenses excluding tax and interest. EBIT is also referred to as operating earnings, operating profit, and profit before interest and taxes.

Furkat [3]

Answer:

This question is incomplete. However, I found the full question with choices from the web ;

Which of the following describes the results of an increase in supply on price and quantity in the market?

a.) Both price and quantity increase

b.) Both price and quantity decrease

c.) Price increases and quantity decreases

d.) Price decreases and quantity increases

e.) Insufficient information

Explanation:

If the supply of a product or service  increases in the market, it means that there will be an increase in the quantity of that product/service. Due to the interplay of  the law of demand and supply, competition among suppliers will increase, driving the price down. Therefore, there will be a  fall the equilibrium price and increase in quantity , making choice D correct.

<em>a. How many fliers do you think the automobile dealership sent out? </em>

<em> b. Using your answer to (a) and the probabilities listed on the flier, what is the expected value of the prize won by a prospective customer receiving a flier? </em>

<em> c. Using your answer to (a) and the probabilities listed on the flier, what is the standard deviation of the value of the prize won by a prospective customer receiving a flier?</em>

a) the total fliers sent out = 31,246 + 1 + 1 = 31,248

b) expected value = [(1 x $28,000) + (1 x $100) + (31,246 x $5)] / 31,248 = $5.90

c) σ² = [($28,000 - $5.90)² x 1] + [($100 - $5.90)² x 1] + [($5 - $5.90)² x 31,246] / 31,248 = ($783,669,634.80 + $8,854.81 + $25,309.26) / 31,248 = $25,080.13

σ = √$25,080.13 = $158.37
