Dickinson ends with an independent clause in order to emphasize hope requires little of others.

What theme is expressed in Dickinson?

Emily Dickinson had many major components in her writing. These themes include: religion, death, home and family, nature and love. Belief: Emily Dickinson was a religious person; religion is brought up many moments in her poems.

first blank space

1. Dickinson does not place the subject in the middle of the poem. She actually starts the poem with it.

2. The last clause in the poem is an independent one. It can stand alone as a sentence, and it has a subject and a predicate.

3. She does not use a balanced structure. Notice how the predicate of the very first issue is composed of several sentences that take up most of the poem.

the second blank options:

1. Dickinson does not underscore the difficulty of remaining hopeful. Quite the contrary, she claims hope can be found even in the direst of circumstances.

2. This is correct. In the final clause, Dickinson claims that hope never requested "a crumb" of her. Hope is not demanding. It is light and easy to find.

3. The poem as a whole doe not speak of grief or the feeling of being lost.

Hope

by Emily Dickinson

Hope is the thing with feathers

That perches in the soul,

And sings the tune without the words,

And never stops at all,

And sweetest in the gale is heard;

And sore must be the storm

That could abash the little bird

That kept so many warm.

I've heard it in the chillest land,

And on the strangest sea;

Yet, never, in extremity,

It asked a crumb of me.

Cheap and Frugal Which shows a negative connotation and which shows a positive connotation? Why?
evablogger [386]
Cheap is negative and Frugal is positive.

Cheap is negative because it is when somebody is afraid to spend money to have short-term savings and in the process they reduce the quality, value and time they have.

Frugal is positive because it is when someone prioritises their money and only spends on things they really need.

e.g someone cheap will buy lots of badly made chairs but a frugal person will buy one chair which will last longer.
