Answer: The wetlands on the Gulf Coast are being preserved because the environment has been drastically altered by humans. Extreme weather due to climate change has caused extreme droughts then flash floods. Moreover, oil spills have been known to happen there, causing ocean dead zones and killing life in that area.

My personal hell is the thought that we never leave our bodies when we die, we are stuck with our own self conscience slowly driving ourselves mad for the rest of eternity in literal dead silence.
This tells me that Ralph has a lot of weight on his back. Everyone depends on him which makes him stressed and not want to deal with anything. He doesn't want to be the leader. This moment foreshadow's that something is going to come up and Ralph needs to take the leader position.
