Answer:

Median = 7

Median of lower half = 6

Median of upper half = 10

Step-by-step explanation:

Median is the middle number of a set of data after rearrangement. Rearrangement can either be ascending or descending order.

Given the data:

5, 8, 10, 1, 7, 6, 15, 8, 6

On arranging in ascending order

(1,5,6,6),7,(8,8,10,15)

It can be seen that the number at the middle is 7.

Median = 7

To get the median of the lower half of the data, we will locate the (N/4)th value of the data

N = sum of all the datas

N = 66

We need to locate the (66/4)th number i.e 16.5th number

The median of the lower half will be 6 (when summing the numbers, 16.5falls on the 4th value which us 6)

Median of upper half is gotten by locating (3N/4)th value

3×66/4

= 49.5th value

On cumulating, the 49.5th value falls on the number 10.

The median of upper half = 10

Find the values of the variables
kogti [31]
Well to find the values of the variables, you would have to use the Pythagorean Theorem. The Pythagorean Theorem states that a²+b²=c². A being one side of the triangle, b being the other side, and c being the hypotenuse. The hypotenuse is the slanted and the longest side of a right triangle. So let's find the the total amount of x and y. 5+7=12 Just plug in the numbers into the equation 12²+5²=c² C would equal 13. So we know that x+y=13. If we plug in 7 and 5 into the equation (solving for y) 7²+5²=c², C would equal 8.6. To find x just do 13-8.6 and we get 4.4. So we know that y=8.6 and x=4.4. Hope I helped!
