To get the things that want or to other wise get back at another person.

Murder could be to get revenge or if someone has done something unacceptable to some one in your family or friends

Shoplifting could be to provide for family that they can't afford

Buying drugs could be for a family member that is very ill

Drug dealing to get money for there family / if some one is black mailing them with emotions abuse

 The cooperation had already degenerated because Stalin had already reneged from his prior commitment to allow for free and fair elections in the eastern Europe region where soviet union had already exerted control. This was in line with Stalin plan of containing the vestiges of capitalism and spreading communism.
