The correct answer is "Give up the Union".

In November 1863, merely 4 months after the defeat of the Confederacy, the Union was going through a secession crisis at the time. President Lincoln, in his Gettysburg Address, stated that all citizens must stand for a "nation which shall give birth to freedom" and that the "government must be run by people and for the people". These statements appealed to the equality that should always exist among all persons who lived in The United States.
