Answer: The culture of the Americas was influenced by the language, food, and music of Africa.

The trans-Atlantic slave trade took the form of a triangle, so it is often called the "triangular trade." Goods from Europe travelled to Africa, where they were traded for slaves. These goods included items such as guns, ammunition and factory-made goods. The African slaves were then transported to the Americas. Slave labour in the colonies produced cotton, sugar, tobacco, molasses and rum which were carried to Europe.

African slaves who arrived in the colonies of America brought a rich cultural history with them. The songs, legends, stories, language, food, etc. of Africa were all influential to the cultures of America, and this impact can still be felt nowadays.

Why do some scientists think that global warming would increase the strength of hurricanes
ch4aika [34]

Answer:

This increased moisture provides additional fuel for hurricanes. Climate models project an increase in the average precipitation rate of hurricanes as a result of global warming. Second, as ocean temperatures rise, there is also less cold, subsurface ocean water to serve as a braking mechanism for hurricanes.

Which of the following choices reflects the theories of John Locke? A. People have natural rights and government is based on a c
viktelen [127]

Correct answer: A. People have natural rights and government is based on a contract.

Explanation/details:

English philosopher John Locke believed that all human beings have certain natural rights which are to be protected and preserved. Locke's ideal was one that promoted individual freedom and equal rights and opportunity for all. Each individual's well-being (life, health, liberty, possessions) should be served by the way government and society are arranged.

Thus, In his political theory, Locke argued the idea of a "social contract." According to his view, a government's power to govern comes from the consent of the people themselves -- those who are to be governed. This was a change from the previous ideas of "divine right monarchy" -- that a king ruled because God appointed him to be the ruler. Locke repudiated the views of divine right monarchy in his First Treatise on Civil Government. In his Second Treatise on Civil Government, Locke argued for the rights of the people to create their own governments according to their own desires and for the sake of protecting their own life, liberty, and property. This includes the right to replace an unjust government with one that properly serves the people's rights.
