The journey that the pilgrims had to endure before arriving to Plymouth was a difficult one, and it was full of accidents and complications.

Before their arrival, the pilgrims had to travel in the snow and the rain. Moreover, both the rudder and the mast of their ship broke. The pilgrims also had to deal with the fact that the sea was particularly rough and that their sail fell overboard.
