The
Spain sold the Philppine archipelago for $20,000,000 after colonizing it for
333 years. Simply, through the Treaty of Paris, the United States got all the
remaining countries colonized by the Spanish empire. Before Spain sold the
country, it used its resources, man power, everything that they could use to
improve their economy.

The Second Great Awakening caused a wave of religious movement and beliefs. Those involved, especially women, began reform movements to include abolition, temperance, prison reform, immigration reform.

The Gold Rush caused many to migrate West in hopes of finding gold. However, many were unable to find gold and with a lack of settlement, resources were scarce. The West had Asian immigrants in addition to blacks, Irish, and Mexicans were all living together. The lack of settlement resulted in few rules or institutions to support the area.

violate the Constitutional power granted to him. He was aware that the

After World War II, the US and Soviet Union emerged as global superpower. As communism spread throughout Eastern Europe, US citizens were scared that this system would spread to the US. In order to prevent this from happening, institutions all over the country took action against supposed communists, including firing them from their jobs.
