According to the Book of Leviticus found in the Old Testament section of the Bible, there were five sacrifices that God asked from his people in order to maintain their fellowship with their God. These sacrifices and offerings ensured the forgiveness of sin as well as the purification of the people. The offerings were the burnt offering, the grain offering, the peace offering, the purification (sin) offering and the guilt (reparation) offering.
